What better way to start my blog than with the One Room Challenge and a huge project!
I signed up for the ORC Spring 2022 as a guest participant to have some accountability and also join a supportive community of people doing the same thing. The challenge is 8 weeks long with a weekly post. It is not a competition, but more of a celebration of creativity!
My project? The guest bathroom. We had a leak downstairs that caused a lot of damage and we had to rip out all the drywall halfway up the wall on the entire north side of the house. The damage extended from the entryway closet, to the bathroom, to the guest room closet and the stairs. So, needless to say, there will be an endless supply of projects coming up this year. We’ve also filed a law suit against our insurance company as they refused to pay for any of the damages. But that’s a story for another time.
Let’s talk about the project! The guest bath.
Here is the plan:
–New tub (because I damaged it during demo) and new toilet
-Waterproof shower, add a shower nook and re-tile
-Do some kind of board & batten and wallpaper on the main wall after putting up drywall
-Paint and stencil the old tile floor
-New light fixture and mirror possibly
-If I’m really bold, epoxy the countertop and paint the vanity
This will be the first time I’ve done a lot of this stuff and I’ll be sharing what I learn along the way. My hope is to inspire you to tackle your own projects!
