It’s time for another One Room Challenge! I can’t believe this will be my fourth time participating in the One Room Challenge. But before I show you the space I’ll be tackling this time around, let’s take a look back on my previously completed ORC projects!
My first time participating in the ORC was back in the Spring of 2022 and I renovated our guest bathroom. If you want to see more of this project, you can check out the posts in the archives.
In the Fall of ’22, I renovated our guest room which I didn’t finish within the 8 week challenge, but I did eventually! You can see details on this project here.
In the Spring ’23 ORC, I continued working on the guest room by turning the closet into my dream tool storage space! I custom built everything you see to maximize the space and store all of my tools.
The most recent ORC I completed was the Fall of ’23 which was the laundry room and pantry. I custom built floating shelves and a pullout cabinet to hide the garbage and recycling bins between the washer and dryer. Yes, I wallpapered the entire room including the appliances!
And now, the project reveal for the Spring ’24 One Room Challenge! The moment we’ve all been waiting for, the next room is…
…the kitchen! Woohoo! Ever since we moved in to our house 6 years ago, I’ve been dreaming of redoing the kitchen and bathrooms. The bathrooms are both complete now, so it’s time to tackle the kitchen. I’ve been hesitant to make any changes because everything in the kitchen was brand new when we moved in (except the floors). The cabinets were brand new, the countertops and all of the appliances. There was only one problem. I hated all of the finishes. The color of the cabinets, the countertop choice, the backsplash…nothing seemed to go together and I never would have picked any of these colors or finishes and definitely wouldn’t have paired them with each other.
So after living with a kitchen I never loved and having a few years of DIY experience under my belt, I’m ready to take this on. Be sure to subscribe so you see the progress updates over the next 8 weeks! This kitchen is going to look completely different! I’m excited to get started!
Until next week, happy DIY-ing!
