I’ve been traveling quite a bit lately and wanted to share some helpful travel items that have made my life easier. One of the things I started doing was keeping a note on my phone with a packing list of things I bring every time. Then when I got to pack for a trip, I consult my list and check everything off as I go. That way I don’t forget anything and when I think of something I wish I had brought, I add it to my note so I have it for next time!
Have something you love that’s not on this list? Drop a comment with your favorite travel item! I’d love to know so I can add it to my packing list and share for next time!

- Carry On Backpack
- This backpack is everything! It’s actually more like a suitcase than a backpack. I did a full review of all the features of it HERE. If opens completely flat and has a large compartment for clothes with a strap to keep everything in place. It has tons of pockets everywhere both inside and out! It comes with 3 packing cubes and is TSA approved as a carry on (just don’t stuff it too full if you’re trying to fit it under the seat). It comes in lots of different colors too!
2. Travel Neck Pillow
- I’ve never been able to sleep very well on planes until I got this travel pillow! I love that it’s compact and you can clip it to the outside of your bag. It’s super soft fleece material that is washable and keeps my neck warm on cold flights. You can wear it on either side and it props your head up in a comfortable sleeping position. No more head bobbing!
3. 4 in 1 Charging Cable
- I got so annoyed having to bring multiple cables and chargers for different phones and things. This 4 in 1 cable is the only one you’ll ever need! It can charge pretty much anything. It has a USB port and a universal on one side and another universal and lightning port on the other. With this one cord I can charge all the things on this list! Both of my iPhones, hair straightener, headphones, toothbrush cleaner, and the power bank.
4. Sleep Gummies
- I always have a harder time sleeping while traveling. There’s just something about sleeping in your own bed and when I’m away I need a little extra help falling asleep. I’ve started traveling with these sleep gummies and they really work!
5. Loop Earplugs
- I love my Loops and I never leave the house without a pair. I have 3 different kinds that all serve different purposes. For traveling, the Loop Quiet is great! They are squishy silicone so they are comfortable to sleep with and great to block out noise on the plane too! I also bring my Loop Engage for social settings where it may be just a bit too loud but I still need to be able to hold a conversation.
6. Favorite PJ’s and Sleep Socks
- My feet are always cold and I would always regret not bringing slippers or warm socks to wear in hotel rooms or wherever I’m staying. Now I make a habit of bringing sleep socks and my favorite PJ’s so I’m always comfortable! My favorite PJ’s are from Cozy Earth but it looks like the style is getting discontinued! I have the Bamboo Knit Waffle Pants and Waffle Knit Henley Tank and I love them! These are always on Oprah’s Favorite Things every year and for good reason! They are very comfortable and well made. The one’s I have are on clearance right now in limited sizes. But anyway, sleep socks are great for wearing around the house and sleeping if you’re like me and always have cold feet. Plus they’re easy to kick off in the middle of the night if you get too warm.
7. UV Toothbrush Sterilizer
- I get a little grossed out setting my toothbrush down on the sink (or someone else’s sink) and this toothbrush sanitizer eliminates that! Not only does it make a nice travel case, it disinfects your toothbrush every time you use it! I use an electric toothbrush at home, but when I travel I grab a regular toothbrush that I haven’t used since who knows when. This UV sterilizer puts my mind at ease, even if it is an old toothbrush, at least I know it’s clean!
8. Travel Pill Box Organizer
- I’m really good about taking my daily vitamins at home, but when you’re traveling, all of your routines can get messed up. I bring a travel pill box organizer so I remember to take my vitamins, even when I’m on the road.
9. 2 in 1 Cordless Brush and Hair Straightener
- Another thing I have been known to forget is my hair straightener. Or sometimes I don’t pack it because it takes up too much space. Now I started bringing this mini straightener that doubles as a hair brush. Saves space and I can brush and straighten my hair in just a few minutes!
10. Bluetooth Headphones
- This is an absolute must for me! On the plane, I like to listen to music, audiobooks or edit videos and these noise canceling bluetooth headphones are great. They also work talking on the phone which is useful too! These are quite a bit cheaper than Apple AirPods and they’ve been awesome. I like that they show the charge on the case too! For the price, you can’t beat them!
11. Travel Tripod
- Another thing I would frequently forget to bring and then regret not having is a travel tripod. This one is super handy because it folds up very small and can easily fit into a backpack. It can be used as a selfie stick as well as a tripod and has a remote too! Fits any size phone and you can use it in portrait or landscape and is easily adjustable.
12. Wireless Charger
- These portable chargers are so great to have and this Magsafe power bank sticks right to the back of your phone. Great for long flights!
That’s it! A few of my favorite travel items that have made packing easier and trips go much better. I hope you found this list useful!
I’d love to hear what your must haves are too! I’m sure I’m missing some things!
I’ll be sharing lots of gift guides this year so be sure to subscribe to get some ideas for the gift giving season!
Until then,
Happy travels!
