What I built

  • Cleared out the antique sideboard that had been standing in as the coffee station
  • Marked the whole cabinet layout on the wall in painter tape before anything was ordered
  • Pulled the baseboard so the cabinets could sit tight to the wall
  • Ran white shaker base cabinets across the alcove with a counter on top
  • Added tall cabinets either side and a bank of uppers across the top
  • Left an open niche in the middle for the coffee setup, tiled the back of it in dark green subway tile and ran a wood shelf across it
